What We Do
EXPEDITIONS
Offering a unique opportunity to learn about the environment while experiencing the environment, Global Eco Adventures offers a chance to receive a first-hand understanding of the planet in which we live and the challenges it faces. Educational expedition locales include journeys across the globe from the Galapagos Islands to Central Africa and from Alaska and the North Pole to Antarctica in the South, summits to the highest peaks in the world and Scuba excursions across the globe. Locally, GEA’s Annual SC7 Expedition explores the environment and challenges facing our home state of South Carolina.
EDUCATION
GEA programs and expeditions are designed to ensure substantive examinations of issues impacting the environment both locally and globally and feature respected academics and professionals who have traveled and lectured at some of the most prestigious colleges and universities across the United States and internationally.
EMPOWERMENT
The ultimate objective all GEA programs and expeditions is to empower community leaders, students, industry professionals, environmentalists, interested citizens, and the general public through the development of skills and knowledge for a greater understanding of the environment and the environmental challenges we face in order to make informed decisions and choices to sustain and protect our fragile environment.
MISSION
To create awareness of environmental sustainability through education of protected areas that are considered natural phenomena with exceptional aesthetic importance and fragile ecosystems for future generations. We seek to increase passion, conservation efforts, and volunteerism by immersing students in research efforts that are underrepresented in Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering focusing on expanding scientific insight.
PURPOSE
We will travel to environmentally sensitive areas to do research on fragile ecosystems, climates and sustainability efforts. We will provide scientific education by giving lectures and presentations to discuss the results of the research compiled during the excursion to these unique areas. Additionally, we will utilize the corporation’s website and media outlets to provide facts, statistics, data, research articles and photos on the specific ecological findings during the excursion as well as opportunities to aid these areas.
Our programs include sending travelers to areas of importance to raise awareness on the local milieu and environmental sustainability in order to provide guidance and offer action plans to aid and alter the effects of such areas.
To maximize our impact on current efforts, we may seek to collaborate with other non-profit organizations, which fall under 501(c)(3) section of the internal revenue code and are operated exclusively for educational, scientific and charitable- purposes.
At times per the discretion of the board of directors we may provide internships or volunteer opportunities, which will aid in or allow for increased involvement in certain activities including youth programs that will increase passion for the environment and raise awareness that will help make a greater impact for change.
